One of the more exclusive Home Owner Associations in Austin, asked us to repair, repaint, and renew over 12 miles of metal fence. Grand Manors is the management company for the Avery Ranch community. Along the 12 mile stretch of metal fence some sections were in worse shape than others. Many sections were broken, and much of it was extremely rusted. All of it needed to be prepped and repainted. In the end, all 12 miles of fence looks like new and has the protective coating it needs to look sharp for years to come.
Project Involvement
A project this size covering such a wide and spread-out area included many challenges.
Our VP of Commercial Projects, Shane Devenport, built a trailer, custom outfitted with a large water tank designed to put out any fires caused by the welder while doing repairs.
We needed a power washer on site to help in prepping some of the painting surfaces and help clean up every day.
Our project manager needed a large Gator 4-wheeler to help move crews around and haul materials to hard to reach areas.
For our crews we had 4 large portable tents to provide shade from the very hot Texas sun.
Finally, we had to have a large storage area to secure our equipment and materials every night.
It takes a well organized and established painting company to make the initial investments, pay for labor and materials without expecting payment for 90 -120 days.
