The Kitchen Cabinet Restoration Process

Project requirements will vary depending on the type of cabinets you have and the scope of the work for your project. However, most cabinets follow a process similar to what is outlined below.

Door & Hardware Removal

The first step in our process is to ready the surfaces for painting by removing all hardware and doors from the cabinet. For most projects the doors are painted while removed from the cabinetry.

Surface Prep / Sanding

Surfaces may need sanding, repairs, or other prep work done before any paint or primer is applied. We will prep the surface to ensure a strong bond between the paint the the wood.

Prime / Paint Surfaces

The application process and need to prime will vary depending on the cabinet and type of product being applied. Some projects we use spray equipment to apply paint, others we use rollers.

Paint / Stain Mounted Cabinets

The mounted cabinets are then painting while still in position against the wall. The surfaces are let to completely dry before reassembly.

Reassemble Cabinets

Once all surfaces are fully dried, our crew will reassemble the now updated cabinets, many customers opt to have new hardware installed during reassembly.
