Project: CertaPro Painters® of Nashua, NH was contacted to update the exterior of this Energy Company, in Nashua, NH. The fire rated paint and top paint coat were cracking and pealing off the surface of the roof of the substation.
Process: The project involved removing all failing paint from a surface using grinders and cut off tools and applying a protective layer of primer on the surface each night during prep. Following surface preparation, 4 coats of Fire Rated paint from Contego International were applied and we followed specific fire rating guidelines to to be sure it was safe.
For safety reasons our team completed a safety course and got certified in order to work around the Power Substation. At CertaPro Painters® of Nashua, NH we take safety very seriously, and we are proud of our team for taking this step to increase their knowledge and expertise in maintaining a safe work environment.
A couple of challenges for this project include working on a strict deadline as well as making sure the temperature and humidity levels were at a set range to be sure the fire rated paint had time to dry and cure. Fall in New England can make reaching this temperature and humidity level very challenging.
Result: Overall this project was took 5 weeks to complete and was thrilled with the end results.
We hired CertaPro of Nashua to handle a unique paint application on a high-voltage electrical housing complex in a substation yard. The project had many changes of plan/scope throughout a months-long process. Certapro was constantly adapting to the end user's need without complaint, headache or heartache. The project had a hard deadline, and Certapro was happy to extend the scope of their work to make the completion day was met. From a management perspective, they were always available by phone and were constantly making site visits to ensure the project's success. There were many challenges to this project from the technical application side of things to the political side of things, and it was a great success from top to bottom. Would 100% hire them again and recommend to others.
