Polyuera & epoxy floors work well for both residential and commercial applications. For our residential customer, applying a coating to a garage floor is the most common project we do, however the coating works on all types of surfaces including walkways, patios, basements, and driveways. Commercial properties also often hire us to help update flooring in the building across a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, industrial, and logistics buildings.

Epoxy vs Polyurea Floors
There are several options when it comes to products to use on floor coating projects. The two main options we install are epoxy and polyurea. For commercial customers, we strongly recommend our customers consider Polyurea for its durability, cure time, and warranty. Residential applications like garage floors, epoxy can be more cost effective and will hold up well with lighter residential use. Many of our residential customers still opt for the Polyurea over the epoxy because the warranty it offers.
Polyurea is stronger, more flexible, and has a shorter cure time than epoxy. Epoxy looks close to Polyurea once installed but can break or chip easier.
The Layers of Epoxy & Polyurea Floors
Floor coatings consist of 3 layers of coatings, starting with a concrete base (pictured as the gray slab in the diagram).
A tinted base coat is applied after prepping the concrete with grinding and cleaning equipment. Decorative chips (optional) are then applied to the tinted base coat and left to cure for a few hours. Once cured, excess chips are scraped off and the floor is cleaned again.
Finally a top clear coat is applied on top of the chips to give it an added layer of protection and shine. The top coat also seals chips so they wont come off over time.
