Top Selected Home Gym Colors

Posted on January 17, 2022

It’s January at the time of this writing, a time of year when new years resolutions come around and gym memberships reach their annual high point. Those fortunate enough to have their own home gym are also often thinking most about the space this time of year. It’s common for us to get requests for painting of gyms this time of year. In this post we will cover some popular choices for color selection when painting a home gym.

Get Motivated with Redred gym colors

Red is not a common interior color, it often is too energizing or exciting for living rooms and bedrooms. However, the effect a red room can have can work to motivate in the gym. It’s often overwhelming to paint all walls of a room red, so we recomend using it more lightly with an accent wall, trim, or other details around the room paired with other colors like white. Red works great with black and silver, which are common colors for home workout equipment and often looks good in the gym.

Green Relaxesgreen gym

For a calmer workout environment, green can work well.  Green is favored for yoga centric workout rooms. Combining green with white gives a natural, forest-like, feel that has been a popular home gym color choice in our service area of WNY.  If you are unsure of what exact shade to go with, we can present options at an estimate appointment of popular choices. Most paint manufacturer websites also offer places to browse colors and get color codes to bring to the store.

Bright Bluesblue gym

Blue is a popular and common home gym color. In the last few years the trend for gyms has been getting brighter and more vibrant, with some gym owners going into neon-blue territory for the wall colors. Neon colors are coming back in style (think 80’s work out video colors). A bright blue accent wall can brighten up and energize the space, creating a motivating environment.

Orange Amps You Uporange gym

Orange is a very popular home gym color with good reason, the color lends itself to a high intensity work-out environment. Many commercial gyms use orange for the same reason, it creates a welcome and motivating environment that encourages patrons to return. Orange looks great with white accent walls and black floor trim.

White for Cleanwhite home gym

For a more versatile or minimalist gym, go with a warm white on your walls. As an added interactive option, paint one wall in white board or chalk board to keep track of your stats. Never forget your bench weight again- just write it on the wall. Add some interlocking foam mats, free weights and a recumbent bike and you’re ready for a full-body workout.
