Rite Aid Pharmacy has been undergoing a significant rebranding initiative, transforming the look of its stores to align with its updated logo and branding. As part of this effort, our team was tasked with refreshing the exterior color scheme of several locations across Western New York (WNY). This included thorough preparation and painting, ensuring a clean and vibrant new look for each store. From repairing EIFS surfaces to carefully applying Sherwin-Williams’ selected color palette, the project showcased our expertise in exterior commercial painting. Despite challenges like navigating fall weather and maintaining customer access during business hours, the results speak for themselves. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED:
Rite Aid Pharmacy is in the process of rebranding and updating its stores and signage. The rebranding includes a color scheme change to the exterior of their brick and mortar locations to better match the colors of their new logo.
Before our crew arrives, Rite Aid already has any existing signage on the store that is being replaced removed. That way we have a clean slate to work with.
The condition of the stores was very good. If there were any areas that needed the EIFS repaired, it was done before any paint was applied.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
The project involved a lot of the typical steps for an exterior painting project. Starting off with power washing the areas to be painted to remove any mildew or dirt. Then repairing any damaged areas of EIFS. Lastly was painting the specified areas according to the new color scheme. To reach some of the higher sections of the buildings a lift was used. The new color scheme consists of mainly 3 colors all from Sherwin Williams. SW 7668 March wind, SW 7669 Summit Gray and SW 7005 Pure White. Then there is a 4th color if the store has a drive-thru overhang which is SW 7017 Dorian Gray.
CHALLENGES, EQUIPMENT AND TECHNIQUES:
Some challenges were using a hydraulic man lift to get to out of reach areas and working around the fall weather in WNY. Another challenge was making sure to not obstruct the entrance since the stores are still open to customers. Our team used a hydraulic man lift and had to use a special technique of repairing and skim coating EIFS surfaces.
FINAL RESULT:
We have completed 6 locations to date during the fall months of September, October, and November. The time to complete each location’s painting varies, but on average, took about 5 days. We plan to complete many more in the WNY area next year once the weather allows! Photos of how each Rite Aid Pharmacy location looked before and after the team got to work can be seen below.
