Commercial Painting in Washington D.C.
The Arc Hotel
CRI Office Buildings Exterior Commercial Painting Project
CertaPro Painters of Washington D.C. provided the following services at The Arc Hotel: Coordinate Access and Aerial Work Platforms; Remove Dirt, Debris, Vines from Façade; Replace 136 Vent Covers; Apply Elastomeric Coating on 80,000sqft of Masonry; Install 130’ of decorative flashing around roofline
Architectural Prep
CertaPro Painters worked from drawings, architectural notes, and field verifications to create a detailed proposal and to ensure the final product is exactly what the customer expected.
Detailed Work Schedule
Prior to painting, CertaPro Painters had to create a detailed work schedule that involved hotel management, hotel ownership, the general contractor, the safety director, the city, the equipment vendor, and most importantly, the neighbors. We worked closely (literally!) with the neighbors to ensure their property was protected from paint overspray and from damage.
40' Modular Swing Stages
CertaPro Painters used 2, 40’ modular swing stages that were moved independently of each other to maximize the speed of the job. Prior to painting, CertaPro removed, and replaced with new, fresh-air vent covers, applied masonry conditioner to all surfaces that were chalking, removed rust from metal lintels, removed vines from dryvit and repaired damage, performed minor masonry patching. A 2 Coat Sherwin Williams Loxon XP system was applied to create a waterproof elastomeric coating.
Internal Inspection
Once as swing stage section was completed, CertaPro Painters completed an internal inspection to ensure that each step had been fully completed. Once a swing staged is moved there is no returning to complete touchups.
120' Fin Installed
Once completed, the general contractor delivered a 120’ Fin to be installed around a portion of the roof line. Using a massive 135’ straight boom, CertaPro was able to install the Fin to specifications in one day.
