Challenges
The challenge of this project was the RTO Silo when running got up to very high temperatures, anywhere between 250 degrees and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This caused us to paint in the afternoon and weekends when the Silo was not running and at a manageable temperature. Painting the silo required a specialty paint that can withstand high temperatures. We also hand painted the logo to restore and make the silo represent the building and company colors.
CONDITIONS
The Hermes RTO Silo was faded and needed an updated painting to show the company colors.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
- Preparation – This project involved power washing first. We used a lift throughout the project to reach everything.
- Painting – After power washing the building, we we used an industrial specialty high temperature paint to paint the silo. We finished by freehanding the logo in a new color to restore the logo.
