A homeowner on Rustington Dr in Spring, TX contacted us to refresh their beautiful brick exterior and panel siding with a new coat of paint.

All of their siding and brick had minor mildew, and there were multiple areas where wood needed to be replaced. At the start of the project, we power washed all siding and brick, removing rotted facia, panels, and soffits. We then installed new wood, caulked all gaps and cracks, and primed all the newly installed wood.

The next step was to start painting. The homeowner’s brick was an orange color and they decided on a lighter, off-white exterior for their home. All areas that were brick around the home were first sectioned out to ensure a consistent look all around. For this project, the homeowner decided adding a limewash would be best to give their brick a beautiful rustic finish. In order to have the limewash look more pronounced, we used a color by Sherwin Williams called ‘Shoji White’ SW 7042 and applied the product with brushes only.

To perform the limewash, we took a high-end exterior paint made specifically for painting brick surfaces – for this project, we used Sherwin Williams Resilience Exterior Satin. Then we took half a gallon of the paint and poured it into half a gallon of clean water. Once mixed, we brushed the mixture onto all the brick.

We finished the project within 5 days in October 2021, and the homeowner was very pleased with the results!
