New Home Interior Painting using SuperPaint® with Air Purifying Technology

A homeowner in Santa Rosa, CA contacted us to repaint and refresh the walls of their new home.

The previous occupant was a smoker and the new owners wanted to get rid of the odor which had permeated the walls, ceilings, carpeting and wood elements within the home. At the time work began, the odor was very strong and noticeable.

To mitigate the smoke odor, we used an odor blocking primer on the surfaces to be painted and then painted the walls in Sherwin-Williams Duration® product and the ceilings with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint® with Air Purifying Technology which is specially formulated and designed to neutralize volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and odors coming from other sources. This paint was used to neutralize the residual smoke odors coming from the carpet and wood surfaces in the home.

Our team successfully completed the project within 7 days March 2022. Upon completion, the effect of the SuperPaint® was immediate and after 5 weeks the new owners still reported no smoke odor in the house. They were amazed at the effectiveness of this product and extremely pleased with not only the excellent paint work and new look, but relieved that they could move into their new home without having to use air fresheners to mask the odor.
