Prepare

Then choose a mineral-based paint or a silicate paint that is designed to be breathable. You will want to pick a paint that has a high-gloss finish because the texture of the brick will show through and this will also allow for easy cleaning.

Another option aside from painting the brick is to paint it instead. This is a better option of the brick is in good condition with little to no damage. Staining it makes is easier for the texture to show through because stain absorbs opposed to paint that coats.
