In April 2026, CertaPro Painters® of North Scottsdale completed a residential exterior painting project for a homeowner in Scottsdale, Arizona. The home’s exterior stucco surfaces had developed significant chalkiness, a common issue in the desert climate caused by prolonged sun exposure and weathering.

Scope of the Work:

Challenges & Solutions:
The primary challenge of the project was the condition of the chalky stucco. Standard paint products are not designed to bond reliably over oxidized surfaces, so using the correct primer system was critical.
To solve this, the team applied Sherwin-Williams Loxon Acrylic Conditioner, a specialized product designed specifically for chalky masonry and stucco surfaces. This primer helps bind residual chalk, improve adhesion, and create a stable base for the topcoat.
By using the proper preparation methods and coatings, the team ensured the new paint system would perform well in Scottsdale’s demanding climate.
