White & Charcoal Exterior Refresh for a Timeless Finish
a Case Study by CertaPro Painters® of Salisbury/Concord/Gastonia, NC
Modern Stucco Repaint in Salisbury, NC
In April 2025, the team at CertaPro Painters® of Salisbury/Concord/Gastonia, NC completed a full exterior transformation of a stucco home that was ready for a more contemporary look.
Over the course of 11 days, our crew brought this property into the modern era with a clean, contrasting color scheme, detailed surface prep, and thoughtful finishing touches. What began as a dated yellow exterior is now a polished white façade accented with bold Iron Ore details—proof of what a professional paint job can achieve.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The home, while in decent shape structurally, needed visual updates to reflect the homeowner’s modern aesthetic. The original yellow stucco exterior and white trim created a dated look that no longer matched the homeowner’s style. We partnered with them to select a new color scheme featuring Sherwin-Williams Moderne White for the stucco body and Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore for the trim, gutters, window frames, doors, and door frames.
The project included:
Full exterior repaint of stucco and cinder block
Painting of aluminum window frames, gutters, downspouts, soffits, doors, and garage doors
Careful stucco patching where light fixtures were removed
Filling of all stucco cracks, including around decorative monuments
Painting of previously white trim in a bold dark tone for contrast
Removal and painting of window grids for a seamless look
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:
One of the key challenges was safely accessing higher areas, including dormers and roof peaks. Our experienced team carefully navigated these height requirements while maintaining quality and safety standards.
The removal of outdated light fixtures presented another layer of detail work, requiring precise patching and blending to maintain a smooth stucco surface. Our team meticulously filled every crack and blemish, ensuring a uniform finish before paint was applied.
Warm spring temperatures also meant keeping the crew hydrated and energized. The client was exceptionally thoughtful, even setting up a snack station with cold drinks—making the project a positive experience for everyone involved.
