Baptist Church Ceiling Project
in Statesville, NC
Commercial Popcorn Ceiling Removal Project
Our painting team was hired to renovate this large-scale ceiling for this Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. Within a 2-week time span, our team was able to remove the popcorn ceiling — sanded, prime, and repainted this cathedral 26-foot ceiling to the owner’s expectations. We believe the results turned out great, and with our professional skills, the process was a clean application. View below for more details on the challenges and results of this project.
Challenges and Conditions of the Project
Condition:
The popcorn ceiling was peeling in several spots in the sanctuary along with several dark spots and cracks.
Project Involvement:
We needed to scrape the popcorn ceiling, sand, skim coat, prime, and paint the sanctuary ceiling.
Special Challenges:
26-foot tall ceilings on a sloped room. We had to move pews, and cover the entire sanctuary in plastic. We had to set up scaffolding. The stage area required us to break down and rebuild the scaffolding on multiple levels of the stage floor.
Special Equipment:
Scaffolding —needed to reach the 26′ ceilings.
Project Timeline: 2 Weeks
