In honor of Earth Day on April 22nd, we wanted to highlight some of the ways we are dedicated to ensuring your home not only looks beautiful but is healthy too. What are VOCs?
VOC stands for volatile organic compounds. They are the reason for the unpleasant smell after painting a room. After application, they “off-gas” into the air and release the scent for several years. Luckily, there has been a rise in zero-VOC interior and low-VOC exterior paints containing fewer or no VOCs. Zero-VOC house paints may contain small amounts of VOCs, but they are healthier and more environmentally friendly by a long shot. They can be life-changing for young children, those with air quality sensitivities, and even pets.
What are Natural Paints?
The “natural” in natural paints means exactly what you think; they’re made from natural ingredients, like water, plant dyes, essential oils, clay, and/or other natural materials. However, there is a difference in cost and potentially limited color options when it comes to natural paints.
