In July of 2020, CertaPro Painters of Salem-Eugene was hired to paint a mixed use building in downtown Dallas, Oregon. The building was built in 1912 as a hotel, but today the 2 1/2 story concrete building has commercial retail on the ground floor and residential apartments on the upper floor.

The facade of the portion of the building CertaPro worked on hadn’t been painted in 20 years. The upper facade’s paint had deteriorated and the plaster and window casings required scraping, patching and caulking. The street side end of the building was in better shape, having been completely stripped, re-stuccoed and painted in 2009, but still had staining and dirt from the ensuing years of use.

Difficulties with the project included the height of the building and major power lines for the downtown area that passed directly in front of the area that was painted. To work around this, CertaPro used a large lift (snorkel-lift) and exercised extreme caution with the power lines.
When deciding on a painting company, the client solicited bids from several contractors, but CertaPro was determined to be the best choice, in part because of other satisfactory work done in the Dallas area.

“Communication with CertaPro was always clear and prompt and they were very eager to accommodate any requests/changes we needed. Michelle and Dave were both great and there have been numerous compliments on the work that was done,” said Ron Burch of Fox Enterprises, Ltd.

The project in total took 8 days to complete. We look forward to working with this client again on another portion of the building.
