Pool Playground Renovation in Lake St. Louis, MO
In May 2020, CertaPro Painters® of St. Charles, South County & West County received the request to renovate the play area at a Home Owner’s Association community pool. The structure was delaminated with failing sections, requiring immediate attention. CertaPro’s professionals sanded down the structure and applied an epoxy mastic along with an epoxy urethane. The final result was a shiny finish that can withstand submersion and every day use from children. CHALLENGES:Community projects provide their own set of challenges, often requiring large scale repair and renovation. A collaborative effort and planning is needed to ensure the assignment is completed efficiently and up to CertaPro standards.
In this case, the structure would also be submerged, adding an extra hurdle for the CertaPro team. They performed their own research to come up with a combination of products that would properly withstand constant water exposure.
CONDITIONS:
- Delaminated – The finished coat was beginning to peel away from the playground
- Worn Paint – Exposure to the elements left the paint faded and in need of a touch up
- Damaged Floor Paneling – Floor paneling required the installation of new sections
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Prep – The structure was sanded and repaired during preparation for painting
- Paint – The play area was primed and painted with an epoxy mixture to with stand use and exposure

After the project was complete, CertaPro Painters® of St. Charles, South County & West County surveyed the play area and took pictures of the renovated structure.
