How to Paint a Room with More Than One Color
Posted on February 25, 2020
Choosing a paint color is a fun way to express yourself and your style. But with so many colors and shades, how are you supposed to pick just one? The good news is, you don’t have to! Painting your home more than one color is a fun way to bring uniqueness and interest into a space. It can change the proportions of the room, add depth, or just give it that extra flare it needed. Keep reading for the best ways to incorporate more than one paint color into a room.
Ombre a room.
Ombre is a beautiful way to add multiple shades into a room. Are you set on a color but can’t pick what shade of it you want? This option allows you to have the best of both worlds. You get the cozy feel from the dark while also getting the open feeling from the light. This may be a bit challenging if you are doing a DIY project but there are other options such as hiring professionals or simply purchasing ombre wallpaper!
Give your hallway character.
Hallways are often forgotten about, but they shouldn’t be! They are great transition spaces and still add to the overall atmosphere in the home. Have fun with this and go with multiple bright shades for a bold look or multiple neutral shades for a more toned-down look.
Create a theme.
This looks awesome in nursery’s, kids’ bedrooms, or play rooms. You can paint murals, paint each wall a different color, or paint designs on the wall.
Section off a small area and make it a different color.
For example, if you have a part of the room that you want to designate for a certain activity you can paint that section a different color. This can be an office space in a living room or a dining space in a kitchen.
Create two different colored walls.
Paint the top of the wall one color and the bottom of the wall another. Hang pictures across the line where the two colors meet so that it all blends well.
