THINGS TO KNOW, THINGS TO DO…

Jobs are usually scheduled to start within 2-4 weeks peak season, 1-2 weeks off season. The office manager or your Sales Associate will reach out to you to discuss your availability.  Please let us know if you need it done quicker than that time frame.  This is subject to change based on weather and availability. We will contact you at least one day in advance of starting, our hope is to give you several days’ notice. If you would like an update on when your job is scheduled please email our office manager directly at [email protected].

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR ROOMS FOR OUR PAINTERS

Before we arrive the first day please prepare 2-3 rooms: remove all pictures and paintings (leave the nails in the wall if you plan to re-hang pictures in the same spot) and remove unwanted nails so the holes can be filled.  Remove all small and fragile objects (tables, shelves and floors should be empty), this includes emptying bookcases and china cabinets.  Clean out closets/cabinets etc… that we are painting. REMOVE ALL WINDOW TREATMENTS.

HOW TO PREPARING SURFACES

Ensure all areas being painted are free from dirt, dust and pet hair.

WINDOWS AND DOORS

Important- Although the windows will dry to touch in several hours, they will not completely cure for 30 days or so.  Please open and close all windows every several days or else THEY WILL STICK!  Also, to prevent doors from sticking apply a small amount of Vaseline to the stripping before closing.

ACCENT WALLS

If you would like more than one color on the walls in any room, that is an additional cost per accent wall.

CHANGING COLOR ON TRIM

If you would like the trim color paint a different color from what it currently is, a 2nd coat is necessary to provide proper coverage.

PAINT COLOR

Typically, we like to have your paint choices one week prior to starting your project. Once you decide on a color please email your Sales Associate and/or our Office Manager with the color name and number. If you need help with choosing colors, you could visit your local Sherwin-Williams store or we would be happy to send someone out to your home to do a free color consultation.

CHANGING YOUR MIND ON COLORS ONCE WE START

If you change your mind on colors, we will need to charge you for the additional paint that is needed, and the time needed to repaint the areas that were already painted.

NUMBER OF COLORS

Our typical proposal includes no more than five colors total. There is an additional cost per color above five colors.

PETS

Please be sure that your pets do not have access to the rooms that we are painting.  It is very easy to bump into a recently painted wall or kick up dust and ruin several hours of trim and wall painting.

ELECTRONICS

We do not remove wall mounted televisions, alarm systems, or any electronic devices.

OTHER ITEMS

We do not remove light fixtures, ceiling fans, toilet tanks, gas powered appliances or anything involving plumbing or electrical work.

HEAVY ITEMS

We will move and cover couches, sofas, tables, dressers, beds and any heavy furniture.

EXTERIOR PAINTING PREPARATION:

Turn outside water spigots on
Close all windows
Unlock gates/fences
Secure all pets
Trim excess bushes/plants away from siding and/or work areas

Move patio furniture, flowerpots, yard ornaments and all unsecured items away from work areas.
