Commercial Case Study: Tooling Dynamics

This project involved refurbishing 2,850 linear feet of pedestrian walkways within the Tooling Dynamics Plant during their 10-day holiday shutdown. The crew faced challenges such as severely worn existing markings, requiring intensive scraping, and navigating around immovable equipment. Utilizing fast-cure epoxy and efficient project management, the team successfully prepared the concrete floors, applied new 4-inch lines with whiz rollers, and completed the project within the tight deadline.

About the Project:

Project Involvement:

This project at the Tooling Dynamics Plant involved refurbishing 2,850 linear feet of 4-inch pedestrian walkways. The work included thorough surface preparation: scraping away the old floor coating, cleaning the concrete, and meticulously measuring and taping for the new lines. Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646 Fast Cure Epoxy was chosen for the repainting. Adding to the complexity, some areas had severely worn markings, making the original lines nearly invisible. Furthermore, the crew had to maneuver around immovable equipment, often working in very close quarters.

Special Challenges:

The project had to take place during their 10-day holiday shutdown allowing time for the product to cure before the employees returned to work.

Project Timeline:

Overall we finished the project within 5 days.
