How Long Will My Project Take?
There are several factors that control how long your project will take. These factors include, your crew size, your scope of work, the areas you allow us to work in daily, the humidity/temperature/weather, the type of paint specified for your project, and the amount of prep and repairs that need to be done.
If you have a large project which includes many rooms in your home or an entire exterior of your home to paint and you are assigned a single-man crew you can expect your project to take longer than if you are assigned a two or 3 man crew. During the scheduling process we will discuss how you wish to proceed. If you prefer to have less disruption in and around your home a one-man crew may be your preference. If however, you want us in and out of your home as quickly as possible we can assign a two or three-man crew. This is your project and it is important to get your input regarding the pace of your project and how you want to proceed.
The humidity/temperature/weather will have an impact on the dry times for each paint. The higher the humidity and cooler the temperature the longer the paint will take to dry.
The paint specified for your project will also have an impact. Oil and alkyd based paints take longer to dry between coats than water based paints.
Additionally, the larger and more repairs that the crew has to make, the longer your project will take. Some areas may require several thin layers of spackle with sanding in between each layer. Tape repairs will require extra time. Wallpaper removal is another area that can impact how long your project will take. The crew often does not know until they begin the removal how easy or difficult it will be to remove your wallpaper. If it is difficult and the walls are damaged we may need to skim the surface to provide a smooth finish.
Once your project begins you can discuss timing with your crew. The smaller the project the quicker we will be finished!
