Commercial Case Study
Penn Waste
Penn Waste is South Central PA’s premier choice for residential and commercial waste management and removal and recycling services. A locally operated and managed company, Penn Waste is committed to improving the communities we serve throughout the counties of York, Lancaster, Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry.
Problem To Be Solved:
Penn Waste came to CertaPro Painters in August 2021 to repaint their offices, conference room, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas at their Mia Brae Drive location. All the areas were well used and in need of fresh paint for walls, doors and trim. The company wanted to change colors to match their company logo and decided to use a similar gray color for their main wall color which was previously used at another Penn Waste location.
It was anticipated prior to the start that there would be wall repairs in both the Conference Room and Scale House Office due to the fact there would be removing old lettering from the walls. Additionally, there were posters and other signage that would need to stay, so care would need to be taken to properly cut in and around those items. Because the office is open 24/7, the work needed to be completed during work hours without disruption to the company’s normal work routine.
Problem Solver Solution:
A crew of three painters worked logically to complete the product as promptly as possible. Repairs were made to the drywall where lettering was removed which included sand, spackle/skim coat and prime. Walls were coated with two (2) coats Sherwin Wiliams Latex Coating and all doors and trim were coated using a Sherwin Williams Urethane Coating.
Final Result:
The Mia Brae Office now is as clean as the future it has been forging during the past 20 plus years in business! The fresh paint brightens the space and the colors now match the branding. The transformation has been well received by all staff and the project took just 4 days.
