The youngest of 5 siblings, Jeff is a native Pennsylvanian having been born in Philadelphia on the night of the last Stanley Cup victory for the Flyers (the ensuing euphoria of the win led to a traffic jam and auto accident that induced early labor). He grew up in Upper Darby and graduated from Upper Darby High School where he missed being a schoolmate of Tina Fey by one year although he did share some of the teachers who served as inspiration for some of the side-characters in Mean Girls.
His family immigrated to the United States from South Korea in 1974 hoping to find opportunities for a better life. In the 1980’s 4 of his father’s 5 siblings along with Jeff’s grandparents followed them here to the US and now 5 generations have settled in various parts of the country from New England to Virginia and even Hawaii. Among them there are several Ivy League graduates, a West Point graduate and colonel in the Army, physicians, pharmacists, engineers, dentists, nurses and entrepreneurs in several industries including the paint industry!
Jeff began his career in painting in 1995 as a franchise manager with College Pro Painters when he needed “fast, LEGAL money” to finish his undergraduate studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Little did he know then that that experience would spawn a nearly 30-year career in paint! After a brief stint in banking and finance he worked at CertaPro Painters corporate headquarters as the Director of Learning and Development where he oversaw the training and induction of nearly 400 new franchise owners all across the US and Canada. After 8 years he was asked to lead the commercial division of CertaPro and in the ensuing 7 years they were able to double the commercial revenue throughout the franchise system. From those experiences he rediscovered his entrepreneurial “itch” and decided to partner with Tim and Jill Meade whom he assisted to launch their franchise here in the Berks, Lancaster & York counties in 2011. As Tim & Jill looked to retire they formed a transition plan to leave the business in the capable hands of the team they had brought together.
In his spare time Jeff and his wife and 2 children enjoy the beach, traveling to new places, Philly sports (most of the time) and volunteering in the community.
