How Much Does House Painting Cost in Plano?
Posted on June 14, 2021
If you’re considering getting your home’s interior or exterior painted, you’ve undoubtedly encountered the elephant in the room – “how much is this going to cost me?” While we can’t give an exact price figure until you’ve reached out to schedule your free estimate and we’ve had the chance to get to know your home; there are several key factors which tend to have the most influence on the final cost of your project. Check them out below:
House Painting Cost Factors
Size and Scope of the Project
The first and most obvious key factor is the actual size of the project at hand. A larger house will cost more to fully paint than a smaller one as the materials and labor involved add up. Although we’re always happy to give your home a full repaint inside or out, we’d also be glad to put our focus on a smaller area or set of rooms in your home if you’re not quite ready to commit to a full repaint.
Labor, Skills and Services Required
As with any professional service, much of the cost also hinges on the time that will be needed for our team to carefully complete every step of the project, ensuring that we’re staying in line with our rigorous quality standards. Additional services, such as drywall repair and power washing, might be needed to ensure the best results possible. These will be factored into the cost at the time of your initial estimate, so you know exactly what to expect.
While we take every step possible to ensure that the job is performed efficiently and cleanly from the start, there may still be touch-ups needed after the project is completed. If this is the case, our team will return to your home free of charge to make sure it’s taken care of.
Changes of Color
Generally speaking, greater contrast and differences in shade between the original color of your home’s interior or exterior and the color we’ll be laying down will require additional coats to fully make the transition.
For example, painting a red room white will necessitate several coats to prevent the original red paint from bleeding through, but doing the reverse may require fewer coats since the much darker red would dominate the original shade. Similarly, there may be fewer coats needed for a project in which the hue will be mostly similar, or if you’re simply looking to get your home freshened up in the same color.
Paint and Materials Used
Depending on the type of surface being painted and the desired finish type (i.e., glossy vs. eggshell), different paints will be required which can carry different costs. Extra items such as caulk and repair materials will also be factored into your final price. All of this will be covered during the estimating process, at which point we encourage you to ask any questions you might have so that we can ensure the project is economical for you.
