Commercial Case Study
Lincoln Rack House in Plano, TX
CertaPro Painters of Plano, TX completed this commercial painting job at the Lincoln Rackhouse – an expansive multi-tenant data center in Plano, in December 2020. This was a unique and challenging job from the start, with the bulk of the work involving bare metal and the vast network of metal power and cooling pipes running throughout the facility. Many of these metal surfaces had gathered heavy pockets of rust over the years, which our team needed to grind down before moving on to priming and painting.
The nature of the Lincoln Rackhouse facility means that there were many fragile, critical systems in the job area that our team needed to be mindful of while priming and painting, and especially during the process of grinding down the rusted portions of metal that we encountered. In addition to this, the team also contended with performing this work in some tight spaces that prohibited the use of a ladder or lift.
Of course, given the heavy duty demands of this facility, the team needed to make sure that the absolute highest-quality coatings were used for the job. Priming was done with a Sherwin-Williams Pro-Cryl Primer, and the top coat was Sherwin-Williams DTM, two coatings that we were confident would stand up to the task of protecting the facility’s metal surfaces for years to come.
Through steady communication with facility managers and a comprehensive “plan of attack” for the challenges that the job introduced, we were able to complete this job in just 5 days, and were thrilled with the results!
