Fairways of Blue Island HOA in Blue Island, IL

Challenges

This project involved revitalizing 78 decks for the townhomes within Fairways of Blue Island. Unfortunately, we noticed that the decks had not been stained in years, meaning they’d suffered much wear and tear. This added an extra step to the painting process as most boards needed to be replaced. Additionally, we had to combat frequent rain during our project timeline.

The Work

As mentioned, a lot of the deck boards were in dire condition before we began staining any of the decks. To start, we removed any boards that were too damaged to stain and replaced them with new wood. Once that was completed, we power washed each deck to remove dirt, grime, and any stain or paint defects such as chipping or blistering. Finally, we began staining the 78 decks, attempting our best to stick to our estimated timeline despite frequent rain relays.

Final Results

At the end, we completed the work in June 2024. The project took 2 weeks to complete and the Fairways at Blue Island community loved the results.
