Retail Center Color Refresh with Sherwin-Williams Finishes
In March 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Orange County completed a six-week exterior repaint for Rancho Badillo, a 59,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail center located at Grand Avenue and Rancho Badillo Street in Covina, California.
This high-traffic shopping center features well-known tenants such as Fitness 19, AutoZone, Rite Aid, and McDonald’s. The retail complex was in good overall condition but needed a professional color refresh to restore its visual appeal and maintain a consistent look throughout the property.
Our team carefully coordinated with business owners and property management to complete the project efficiently and safely while minimizing disruption to customers and daily operations. The result was a bright, uniform finish that revitalized the shopping center’s curb appeal and protected it from the elements for years to come.
Project Scope
The scope of work included painting the stucco siding, soffits, trims, accents, columns, man doors, railings, trash enclosures, bollards, and metal awnings across the entire retail center. Each surface was power washed and prepped to ensure proper adhesion before applying new coatings.
The updated color scheme featured Sherwin-Williams Intellectual Gray (SW 7045), Cobble Brown (SW 6082), and Canvas Tan (SW 7531)—a palette selected to modernize the property’s look while complementing the surrounding architecture. The result was a cohesive and professional finish that restored the center’s visual consistency and enhanced its overall presentation.
Challenges & Solutions:
Working in a busy retail environment presented the greatest challenge, requiring precise coordination to avoid interfering with tenant operations and customer activity. The crew scheduled work during off-peak hours and carefully managed equipment placement to ensure public safety and smooth business flow.
A 45-foot boom lift was used to reach high areas safely and efficiently, allowing painters to cover large surface areas without disrupting storefront access. Through careful scheduling, communication, and safety planning, the project was completed on time and within scope, maintaining the property’s professional appearance throughout the process.
