Shopping Center Painting Project

In July 2024 we were awarded the contract to paint the Vista Verde Center shopping complex located in Lomita, CA. The center contains a variety of businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, and service providers that caters to the local community’s needs in Lomita. Working with the property managers and their schedule, the facility was painted in sections over the course of 4 weeks.
Before the Project Started…
The building had significant signs of deterioration, characterized by peeling paint and failing wood beneath the surface. The peeling paint indicates a lack of proper maintenance, exposing the underlying wood to moisture and potential damage.
The project involved several key tasks to restore and enhance the building. It included:
Wood Repairs: Addressing damaged or deteriorating wood by replacing or fixing sections as needed.
Priming: Applying a primer to prepare the wood for painting, ensuring better adhesion and a more even finish.
Painting: Coating the primed wood with paint to improve aesthetics and protect against weathering.
Wood Filling: Using wood filler to fill in cracks, holes, or imperfections, creating a smooth surface for painting.
Caulking: Sealing gaps and joints with caulk to prevent moisture infiltration and enhance the overall durability of the finished work.
The buildings were painted early in the mornings to ensure the parking lots were empty, which helped prevent overspray. This strategy minimized the risk of paint affecting vehicles and ensured a cleaner, more efficient painting process. Due to the height and hard to reach places a boom lift for painting. The boom provided the ability to reach elevated areas while providing a stable platform to work from.
After Completion of the Project…
When it was completed the building was free of deteriorating wood and cracks, and sported a clean, inviting and uniform look. The property owners were pleased with the results. Take a look at this exterior video tour below to see the results…
