Elevating Curb Appeal in Armour Heights
In July 2025, CertaPro Painters® of North York, ON completed a residential exterior painting project in the Armour Heights neighborhood of North York, Ontario. The project focused on restoring and repainting the home’s exterior windows, window frames, and surrounding trim.
Prior to painting, the home’s exterior surfaces showed clear signs of long-term exposure to the elements. Peeling paint, failing caulking, and general surface deterioration were visible across the doors, window frames, and trim.
These issues required proper preparation and targeted repairs before new coatings could be applied. Addressing surface problems early helps prevent moisture intrusion and extends the life of exterior wood and trim components.
The goal was to refresh worn exterior surfaces, improve curb appeal, and protect key architectural details from further weather-related deterioration.
SCOPE OF THE WORK:
The project involved painting the home’s exterior windows and window frames, along with soffits and surrounding trim surfaces as needed. Preparation was a critical part of the process and included removing loose paint, addressing deteriorated areas, and replacing failing caulking where necessary.
Once surfaces were stabilized and ready, fresh exterior coatings were applied to restore appearance and provide long-lasting protection against the Ontario climate.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:
One of the primary challenges was the condition of the existing surfaces. Areas with peeling paint and deterioration required more extensive prep work to ensure a smooth, durable finish.
Another challenge involved safely accessing higher or harder-to-reach exterior sections of the home. Careful planning and proper equipment allowed the team to complete the work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT & TECHNIQUES:
A lift was used to safely access elevated areas of the home and ensure consistent results on upper-level windows and trim. Combined with detailed surface preparation and professional application methods, this helped deliver a clean and lasting finish.
