Challenges
This project had many challenges to it. To begin, since events were not being booked due to COVID-19 the budget was limited. Next, when we removed the wallpaper, we found walls that were wood paneled. We had to skim coat this entirety to have a paintable surface. Finally, there were lots of areas that required laborious repair work, i.e. mold and multiple layers of wallpaper.
Conditions
The organization has a function hall, used very frequently over the years by the community for weddings, birthday celebrations, and various other events. But the condition of the room was old and outdated.
Project Involvement
They called CertaPro Painters of Newton, MA to freshen up the room. The project involved our crew removing old wallpaper, removing base boards,
painting the room and adding a new accent trim. We spray painted the ceiling as it showed signs of aging over the years with stains and discoloration.

THE FINAL RESULT
After the project was complete, CertaPro Painters® of Newton gathered images of the new finish of the event space. The American Legion’s transformation added a wonderful and bright new appeal to the room.
