Causes of plaster damage & repair

Plaster damage is common caused by either water, weather, or impact. Below are some examples of the types of damage we regularly see in our service area

Water Damage

Water damage is usually noticeable by discoloration due to prolonged exposure to water. In cases where this happens we remove all of the damaged plaster and apply a new coat over the area. After setting its common to paint the surface.

Cracks and fractures from impact

This type of damage is often caused by a person or object falling into the wall. It also happens fairly regularly when moving large furnature around a house and through tight passages. This picture was is on a ceiling where force from the floor above caused the seam to open resulting in a large crack down the center of the ceiling.
