Historic Home Painting Project – Kewaunee, WI
Roof Repairs – Exterior Painting – Carpentry Repairs
In 2021 we were contracted to help with painting and repairs for a historic home in Kewaunee, WI. The home had sever rust on the roof and peeling paint on the soffits, fascia, windows and doors. The scope of work included power washing, carpentry repairs, sanding surfaces, masking & prep work, priming surfaces, and 2 spray coats of paint.
Roof Refinishing Process:
- Powerwash to remove dirt and mildew
- Sand to remove surface rust and to promote adhesion of new paint
- Mask off items not being painted
- Full prime with SW Kem Kromik Rust Inhibitor
- Spray 2 coats of SW BondPlex/Satin (HopSack SW6109)
Painting Process:
- Hand-scrape to remove all loose and peeling paint
- Hand-wash to remove dirt and mildew
- Spot prime using SW Exterior Wood Oil Primer
- 2 coats of SW SuperPaint Exterior
Colors included:
- Trim custom match to Benjamin Moore AF-85 Frappe
- Accent Color HopSack SW6109

Sections of the home needed to have decorative elements replaced, we cut and styled new wood for the project.

The final step was to prime and paint the cut wood before mounting it back on the home.
