Boyd Technologies Case Study
Commercial Painting Project
About the Project
The room was old, with dusty surfaces that needed extensive cleaning prior to painting. The roof had never been painted, the metal roof supports were the original red coating when it was first built and the walls were a faded white from many years ago.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
We had to clean all the surfaces prior to painting. We painted the ceiling white with a product called Dryfall so that any paint that was sprayed on the ceiling and did not stick would dry as it falls to the floor allowing us to sweep up the residue that had fallen. The metal roof structures were painted white using a DTM (Direct To Metal) paint. The walls were a mixture of aluminum and cement block which we coated with latex paint for the aluminum and masonry paint for the block walls.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
We had to use a scissor and boom lifts to painting ceiling areas and upper portions of the walls. Prior to painting, we had to completely cover all equipment in the many production lines in the space.
PROJECT TIMELINE
This project was completed in October of 2019 and took 10 days to complete.
