College Interior Painting Case Study
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
This project involved repainting and refinishing windows at Wellesley College. Our team was hired to remedy the faulty installation from 5 years ago that led to premature urethane failure. We worked with the window manufacturer and the College to find the right solution. In the end, we removed all the old urethane and applied a specialized water-based urethane coating to protect the newly painted wood adequately moving forward.
CHALLENGES:
The Wooden window frames at Wellesley College required heavy sanding for all 169 windows. We also sanded 10 doors, spread across 4 floors.
The atrium was 25ft tall and required a custom-made ladder to paint safely. We also had to make sure the equipment was placed carefully in order to access the high windows safely.
We also sectioned off areas as we worked to contain the sanding dust and to keep the building in good order.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 2 weeks.
THE FINAL RESULTS
Freshly painted and finished wood trim that will last for years to come!
