About Stucco Painting

Prepare the Stucco for Painting

It’s important the exterior is completely dry. If not, stucco material won’t absorb the paint correctly.

A moisture meter is used to gauge how much moisture is on the exterior. It must read less than 12%,

Repair Stucco

This is the time when we repair any cracks, holes or voids in the stucco. We use caulking or a joint compound to do this, and we take our time to make sure it lasts. No one will be able to know the stucco was repaired after we are done with the repairing and painting.

Use Primer

Primer seal is important before starting any stucco painting. Many people use a primer/paint combination, but that is not the best choice. The best results come from first using primer and then painting.

Spray and Brush

Stucco paint is sprayed and then back brushed. This is the best way to achieve beautiful stucco painting results. The back brushing ensures you push the paint into all of the small holes and mortar joints. This is what results in an even finish.
