In May 2025, a striking home transformation took place in Lake in the Hills, Illinois. This one-day project involved a complete exterior refresh, turning a traditionally styled home into a bold, contemporary standout.
Originally featuring light beige siding with white trim and brown shutters, the home had a clean but dated appearance, with mild mildew and minimal contrast. White railings and pale columns blended quietly into the structure, offering little in the way of architectural emphasis.

About the Project:
The scope of work included a full exterior power wash, removal and installation of new shutters, and comprehensive painting throughout.
One of the primary challenges involved carefully removing aged shutters that had adhered to the home’s surface over time. Thanks to skilled handling by the team, the shutters were taken down without damaging the siding.
Specialized equipment like lifts and scaffolds were used to safely reach high points of the home, ensuring quality and precision throughout.
The Results:
The renovation brought dramatic results. Black shutters, trim, and a fully repainted garage door created a sharp contrast that immediately modernized the home’s aesthetic.
The porch railing, columns, and roofline trim were also painted black, adding definition and framing the facade with a sleek, bold appeal.
These updates not only refreshed the home’s look but significantly elevated its curb appeal, making it more visually engaging and likely more valuable.
