High Road School of Belvidere in Garden Prairie, IL

The CertaPro Painters® team from McHenry, IL was commissioned to refresh the interior of a school located east of Belvidere in Garden Prairie. The scope of work included painting the interior and conducting minor repairs on cinder block walls. The school was generally well-maintained, requiring only a few minor fixes before the painting could begin. Despite the ongoing classes and flow of students in the halls, the project was efficiently completed in a standard two-day timeframe.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:

The school facility was generally well-kept, but there were specific areas that needed attention before painting could begin. Cracks in the walls had to be repaired. Some sections of wall had chipping and scuffed paint, likely due to years of hanging posters and other decorations for the students. Additionally, old doors in the building had been improperly primed, causing paint chips to fall off.

Cracks were filled, and paint was scraped from the old double doors. When debris was cleared, our team got to work on the final paint application.

CHALLENGES:

This project had some unique challenges, primarily because the school was in session during the job. Our team had to operate while students were attending classes, which required careful planning. High-traffic areas had to be sectioned off to ensure the safety of students and staff, and traffic flow had to be diverted to alternative routes to accommodate the ongoing work. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness was a priority to prevent debris from being tracked into other areas of the school.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT:

Our expert painting team performed the repairs and repainted sections without issue. Students and staff were not disrupted by the work. The finished product is a clean paint job, contributing to a positive learning environment for the students.
