Nursing & Rehab Center Painting Project in Little Rock, AR

In March of 2022, CertaPro Painters of Central Arkansas painted the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. The building is managed by the Southern Administration, an organization that manages multiple nursing homes across the state. Relative to our office, the center was located three hours away, in NorthEast Arkansas. The project was focused on priming, sanding, and applying paint gloss to 20 pre-built cabinets before shipping them to Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab in NorthEast AR.

CHALLENGES

The scale of this project was quite impressive. To fully prime and refresh all 20 cabinets in a timely manner took a level of focus and expertise only available at CertaPro.

Logistically, the project was unique in its circumstances. All 20 cabinets had to travel 3 hours to be shipped to our large paint booth. After completing all the painting off-site, we then had to ship them back and verify a speedy arrival.

The use of our large, well equipped, paint booth and drying room was essential in order to produce a top of the line spray finish on the cabinets.

CONDITIONS

Fresh From Production – All 20 cabinets were brand new when they arrived; however, these bare plywood grand cabinets needed a quick refresh before use.
Fresh From Transportion – All 20 cabinets needed to be unloaded and inspected for any damage before work began. Anything of note was reported to the client as needed.
Handled With Care – After work was completed on the cabinets, CertaPro Painters handled the process of packaging them up for shipping. This included corner guards for each unit and plastic wrapping them to keep each cabinet in top quality condition.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

Assembly – Before the project could begin, all 20 cabinets were disassembled for ease of work. After the work was completed, each cabinet was reassembled, better than ever before.
Bondo Repairs – We repaired some voids in the plywood veneer using Bondo and wood filler in order to provide a finished-grade product to the client.
Caulking – Gaps and cracks found in the the corner and shelving were filled.
Priming – The united were sanded down and primed via two coats of Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane in Semi-Gloss sheen.
Painting – Both the interior & exterior of each unit was painted before repackaging for transport.

PROJECT TIMELINE – Approximately 2 weeks
