CertaPro Painters of Central Arkansas was contacted by the POA of Chenal Circle to complete a community renovation project. Twenty-eight light posts in the area were in need of attention as they had accumulated wear over time and needed to be livened up. The poles were cleaned and painted to provided a brand new look for the West Little Rock neighborhood. CHALLENGES:
Uncommon projects like the Chenal Valley light pole painting have their own unique set of hurdles. Communication with the client and coordination among the team was paramount due to the sprawling nature of the assignment.
CHALLENGES:The light posts were dirty with worn paint, creating breakdowns in not only the look of the lights but also the functionality of the paint’s protection. Proper planning was necessary to finish the project, not only within a reasonable time, but to make sure further damage to the posts was mitigated.
CONDITIONS:
- Dirt Accumulation – Years of dust, dirt, and grime were present on the posts that needed to be removed before painting prep could commence
- Chalky Finish – The poles had a chalky finish due to worn and outdated paint that was losing both adherence and protection qualities
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Prep – The posts were thoroughly cleaned to allow for proper application of the new coats of paint
- Paint – All 28 light poles were restored with a black semigloss paint for a brand new look
