Public School Painting Project in Dewitt, AR
Dewitt Public School is a well worn location filled with students and faculty throughout most of the year. During spring break of 2022, the school administrators contacted CertaPro Painters to recolor the walls, doors, and ceiling. The total square footage of the job was around 6000 square feet. The scale of this project may seem intimidating, but the professionals at CertaPro are well equipped to handle assignments of great magnitude and variety, while still maintaining high standards.
CHALLENGES:
CHALLENGES:The Cafeteria ceiling was around 20 feet tall, and required rolling scaffolding to reach. Similarly, creating soffit accents required a precise touch.
The large amount of wear and tear to come was a concern. We used pre-catalyzed epoxy on all cinder block walls. This greatly increased the durability of the block walls that were painted.
Projects of this size require a significant amount of coordination within the crew. Especially with the time limit of completing the project before the end of Spring Break.
CONDITIONS:
Cinder Block Walls – The surfaces had last been painted many years ago. Proper preparation was essential to ensure the longevity of the fresh paint job.
Metal and Wooden Doors – While the wooden doors were painted over, the metal doors were given fresh life by painting the door frames.
School Environment – The building architect left specific written instructions on the creation of a “Dignity Blue” accent wall in the school hallway.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
Prep – After a thorough walk through the area, the scaffolding was brought in and builders paper was taped down to prevent paint dripping onto the floor.
Paint – CertaPro Painters professionally recolored and revived the walls, ceiling, and soffits of the school cafeteria.
