CertaPro recently completed a complete exterior paint job which included scraping all peeling paint, including the second story windows, removal and replacement of all shutters.

Proper preparation was key to achieving the desired look the customer was looking for along with skill to achieve all the crisp edges to this finish. Due to the damage and the age of the building special attention was given to smoothing some of the windows and all the rotten wood was removed and replaced.

Project Involvement

The crew managed to spray all the siding using a complex system of ladders to improve mobility and performance while spraying.

Special attention was paid to the siding to ensure a consistent finish. This was a single-family home of approximately 3,007 square feet that was built in 1875, so the big challenge was scraping and sanding all the peeling paint while containing and collecting the paint chips. For this, special tools like a Festool sanding machine were used to sand and collect the debris. The home had rotten wood in several places and significant damage to some of the siding. The shutters were also almost down to bare wood due to weathering. The crew had to do some significant prep work to most of the woodwork, including the second story windows, remove all shutters and replace some that were beyond repair.
