Homestead Village Enhanced Senior Living
Homestead Village Enhanced Senior Living Commercial Painting Project
Problem To Be Solved:
Homestead Village, a Life Plan Community located in Lancaster County, PA needed an exterior renovation. The exterior paint was outdated, the siding needed cleaning, and the masonry walls along with the vent covers and railings were rusting. The desired outcome was to have the walls to match as closely as possible to the Bachman Building because the previous color used was unknown, and haveย a door/window frame color 3 shades darker gray which was complimentary to the walls and not too dark.
Problem Solver Solution:
The project took eight weeks in total across two phases. First, the building was pressure washed and the surface cracks on the masonry siding and balcony ceiling were repaired. The siding was painted with two coats of Sherwin Williams SherLastic Elastomeric Coating, and Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Urethane Alkyd Enamel DTM (Direct-to-Metal) Coating was used on the doors and iron railings. Due to the height of the building, the painters power sprayed the siding while protecting certain areas from over spray. The windows, door frames, and railings were painted by hand. Our team also used a 60 foot straight boom lift to reach the upper levels of the building which exceeded 40 feet.
Final Result:
The project was a success in 2017, and we were asked to return in 2018 to complete the job. Since then, the Facility Manager, Jim has discussed future multi-phased projects and gave favorable reviews of our work to potential customers.
