Winter 2021 Design Trends

Posted on November 28, 2021

Our team at CertaPro Painters® of Kirkwood loves to see new trends in design and how each individual puts their own unique spin on it. Since we are heading out of fall and into winter, there will be a new set of design trends. Many of these have been consistent throughout the year, and we expect them to carry over into 2022 as well. If you are interested in knowing the Winter 2021 Design Trends, then keep on reading!

  1. Earth Toned Colors – This one is becoming increasingly popular over the past year. We are seeing a huge shift from the clean, stark white, modern style that was extremely popular over the last 5 years. Now we are transitioning into a natural, earth toned style. Greens, browns, Carmel and rust shades are entering home all over the country. This style is ideal for the winter months because it created a cozy, warm atmosphere. However we believe this trend is going to stick around for years to come.
  2. Natural Materials- Since natural colors are becoming popular, it makes sense that natural materials are too. Rattan and wicker have been a popular design trend over the past couple of years, but we don’t see it going away anytime soon. From end tables, light fixtures, seating, and more. Homeowners like the sense of craftsmanship and warmth. house plants
  3. Handmade Ceramics- We believe we will be seeing a lot of personal items in homes in winter 2021 and beyond. With the modern style becoming so popular over the past decade, many homeowner’s “knick-knacks” didn’t fit the clean, minimal style. However, they will be making a reassurance, with homeowners missing the personal touches and warmth that modern style didn’t allow for. This includes handmade ceramics such as vases.
  4. Indoor Plants- This has been a popular home design trend for the past couple of years but it will continue into the winter of 2021 the foreseeable future. What goes better with earth toned colors than natural greenery?
