In this case study, we recap a painting project that we completed for a Giant Food Store in Elizabethtown, PA in June of 2023. We detail the highlights from these projects below:

Describe the condition of the facility/surfaces at the time work began.

The registers were dated and in need of a repaint.

What did the project involve?

Electrostatic painting of the registers.

How long did the project take, from start to finish?

Approximately 7 hours.

Were there any special challenges involved?

The work had to be done during the night due to the store remaining open during daytime hours. There were multiple electrical outlets that were not working during the refresh and the electrostatic machine needed the outlets in order to work. Due to this, it set the crew back an hour.

Did the project require any special equipment or techniques?

Yes. Electrostatic painting is a type of spray coating that is used to efficiently coat a metal substrate by inducing an electrical charge to the paint particles that make up the spray, causing the paint to adhere to the metals’ oppositely charged surface. This is a special technique and requires special equipment to complete. We were fortunate to have a great painter who specializes in this technique.
