Empty Nesters – Katy Residential Interior Repair & Painting Project

After 20+ years of raising a family, the Homeowners have recently become empty nesters. And the years of boys and dogs have left their mark on the family home. The homeowners needed to update the look and feel of the home, make a number of repairs and prepare the home so it can go on the market and they could downsize their life.

The walls were worn, the drywall was damaged, the ceiling had stains associated with minor water leaks and the trim shown evidence of a family life well-lived.

CertaPro Painters of Katy met with the homeowners to provide options for repairs, coordinate the schedule and then complete the work.

There were a number of challenges and repairs involved before the painting could be done, including:

• The walls had minor cracks and holes in the sheetrock, after years of loving use. These minor cracks were patched, texture added so the walls looked consistent and then the walls were painted.
• The trim and doors showed a great deal of hard use. The baseboards were sanded and then painted with Emerald Urethane Trim Paint which is excellent paint for coving minor imperfections.
• Finally, the ceilings were examined to determine if the drywall needed to be replaced (they did not), the stains were primed and then the entire ceiling was repainted.

With the volume of work to be accomplished, CertaPro worked with the Homeowner to schedule the repairs and painting to minimize expense and downtime, while providing quality results.
