Repairing damaged stucco and deep structural cracks on a large home in Laguna Nigel
The home was in rough condition at the time of our estimate. There was a lot of stucco damage and deep structural cracks throughout the home. Patching everything was essential before painting and wood repair was required as well due to the extent of the damage.
As the Prep Work Commenced…
The house had a good number of cracks on its stucco surface and the retaining walls surrounding it as well. After an initial power washing the damage was assessed and a plan to repair them was formulated. Like many of our projects the real work is in the preparation and repair in order to create a surface that is perfect for painting.
Due to the cracks in the stucco being so structurally deep we had to fully expose them before we were able to patch them up completely. Without exposing the cracks towards their root, you could never get a smooth finish on the exterior of the home after patching. Covering them up with a small stucco layer overtop would not do the trick on this job. Navigating this home was also difficult due to the age and fragile nature of the particular roofing tiles.
For this project we constructed foam padded mounts for our painters to stand on during work near the roof as opposed to standing directly on the tile. The foam displaces the downward pressure and reduces the risk of damaging any tiles.

You can see that the results are dramatic. Any threat to the exterior has been dealt with, the exterior is now uniform, crack free, and protected with a new exterior layer of paint.
