Warehouse Exterior Painting Project

CertaPro Painters® of Hilton Head, SC had the opportunity to work on an exterior project for a Warehouse in Ridgeland, SC. The client was looking to update the exterior of the warehouse with an updated look, as well as clean the surface of a long overdue surface that showed signs of grime and normal wear and tear. The project took a total of 3 weeks to revamp the exterior. The biggest challenge when it comes to exterior painting projects is coordinating with the weather forecast, if it’s rainy, too cold, or too hot for paint then our team has to reschedule. In addition, the aerial lift broke halfway through our project, and we had to get a replacement.

However, with our professionals working so diligently we managed to finish the project on time. As a result, the owner was very pleased with how meticulous, precise, and efficient we were on the project and happy that the project was done in a quick, timely manner. We hope to continue a long-lasting, professional relationship going forward with our client!

CHALLENGES:

Large commercial projects provide their own set of challenges. For this project, our CertaPro Painters had to coordinate with the property management team on their requested color palette and scope of work. Since the project required painting outdoors, our team had to work with the weather forecast to ensure that the days we painted, the paint would be allowed to dry. In addition, the aerial lift broke halfway through our project, and we had to get a replacement.

CONDITIONS:

  • Wall Prep – Walls need to be power-washed and paintable components need to be sanded/scraped.
  • Brick Surface – Since the surface was brick, which is naturally porous, we had to apply several coats for full coverage.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:

  • Wall Repair – Proper preparation was needed involving industrial caulking for cracks and chipped surfaces.
  • Exterior Paint – We had to prime the area with coats of the appropriate paint colors.
  • Powerwashing – Before painting, our team had to do major surface prep and remove all the grime, debris, and dirt that accumulated on the surface of the building.
  • Lifts – Commercial aerial lifts had to be used to paint at the height to cover the surface area.

PROJECT TIMELINE – 3 weeks
