11 New Paint Colors You’d Never Use Until Now

Posted on January 14, 2020

There is no pressure when choosing a paint color, right? Wrong! You’ll have to look at this color for the next year(s). Go too bold, and you’ll be regretting the choice for quite some time. Too pale isn’t any better. We’re happy to share 11 new paint colors you’d never use until now for interior painting Hamilton.

Teal

Teal lives somewhere in between blue and green. Because of the newest pairing with tangerine, it’s experiencing an upswing in usage. The colors feel retro, when paired they are more modern. Use these two colors with traditional furniture for a playful look of new and old.

Red

Feeling fiery? Go red! Long gone are the days of red being reduced to brothels. The color of passion is being used in ways that make it edgy and eclectic. Try pairing with mixed metallics to add light to the room. Or go with a white and black scheme to feel a mod luxury.

Blush

Pink is girly, but blush is grown and sexy. It’s a relaxed feminine color that makes a warm room with red undertones. Take it up a notch by pairing it with crystal or gold. It makes a room any woman would love to live in.

Graphite

If you’re looking for deep and brooding, graphite is for you. It’s a step back from the darkest black making it easier to work with. Be sure to use light furniture, colorful art and bright trim to keep it from feeling like a gothic cave. Pull it off and you’ll get the interior feeling of the hippest SoHo loft.

Emerald

No wizard here! Emerald green works really well when you pair it with black and white. The natural jewel tone can be used successfully and timelessly if you keep natural furniture in the room. Avoid gold or your visitors might go looking for the Wicked Witch.

Peach

Put peach back on your list! Peach walls have come a long way since the hair was big and the accessories bigger. Match it with stark white or cream colors and you’ll have a palette that is less 80s and more brand new.

Black

Bring back your goth – black is back. Ok, black never went out of style. To do chic black right, you’ll need to use a hefty amount of brilliant white furniture and accessories. Bright colors in artwork on the walls can help lighten the mood. Try adding some glam elements like silver, chandeliers and crystals.

Mint Green

It’s not a terribly bridesmaid dress, mint is making a comeback. Modern furniture paired with the retro color makes a polished and purposeful look. It can be used very successfully in dining rooms above a chair rail, or in a kitchen to lighten dark cabinets and counters. Do it right and you’ll be left with a fresh feeling.

Navy

It’s the not-neutral. Navy works to counteract the brightness of off-white in a black way without being so dark. Go for a full naval look with red, white and gold. Or pair it with a tartan blanket for an Irish or Scottish inspired family room.

Apple

Another pull from nature, green apple is a rarely used paint chip. The color is bright and cool and will allow you to enjoy the feeling of summer year-round. Some may find the color a bit overwhelming, but adding it as an accent wall to offset a plain or dark room is the perfect plan.

White

There are too many versions of white available on the market. Rarely is a stark, crisp white chosen. It’s been passed over for years and is poised for a comeback. Skip the beiges, whites and neutrals in favor of white.
