Our Professional Nursery Painting Process

Every nursery painting project can be slightly different, from color and material selection, natural light considerations, and specialized wall preparation. If your project is unique, we will discuss a plan that meets your needs during your initial estimate appointment. Below is a general overview of what you can expect from an interior painting project:

  • Set-up– Items are covered with clean, new plastic sheeting. All floors are protected with drop cloths.
  • Prepare– Based on your requests, holes and cracks in ceilings and walls are filled; stains are sealed; and surfaces are scuff sanded.
  • Paint– Repaired areas are primed and premium quality paint is applied for a uniform finish.
  • Clean– We treat your home just like it is our own – with the utmost care and respect. Therefore, we pay close attention and leave everything where we found it, and we perform a thorough cleaning of the work area.
  • Inspect– After our own inspection, your job site supervisor will walk you through the space, giving you the opportunity to review our work and to provide any initial feedback.

"Hired for repair and painting of a rec room and two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and bathrooms. Great work done in a timely manner at a reasonable price by a friendly professional team! Chris and his crew were a pleasure to work with. I would hire them again without reservation for additional projects."

Safe Painting Practices for Nurseries

We understand the concerns of parents when it comes to paint materials, fumes, dust, and other safety hazards that pose a risk to small children. That’s why we prioritize safety, cleanliness, listening to your concerns, and working with your feedback on all our projects, to help set parents at ease. For nursery painting, we use only low-VOC and zero-VOC paints throughout the project. These paints are baby safe and low-odor, which promotes cleaner and healthier indoor air quality compared to other commercial options. Furthermore, our preparation and masking help capture any dust or other particles that can occur during drywall repair. All dust, particles, paint chips, and other debris are cleaned thoroughly at the end of the project, guaranteeing a clean environment for your child.

We are a fully insured painting company in the state of North Carolina, so you can have confidence that our professional teams use the best painting materials for safety and quality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Interior Painting

1. What should I do to prepare for painting?

We recommend you move all small, breakable, and high-value items out of the room. Large furniture items such as sofas and beds don’t need to be moved yourself; we can move them or cover them before painting. You can also disconnect any wiring for electronics that need to be moved. We can move TVs from the walls, but we request that you are present while doing so. If you need any nails removed from walls, mark them with a sticky note or other label. We will patch any holes in the wall prior to painting as part of our standard process.

2. How will my project be managed?

The salesperson or production manager will meet with you alongside the crew at the start of the job. From that point on, the Job Site Supervisor (JSS) will be your primary point of contact. The JSS provides daily updates and is there to address any concerns, changes. or questions you may have. At any point, you can also contact the salesperson or production manager if needed.

3. What type of paint do you use?

We primarily use Sherwin-Williams brand paints, but other brands are used as needed depending on the project. As we discuss the specifics of your painting project, we can discuss paint options and select the right paint for you.

4. Do you use any material aside from paint?

Yes, other materials we use regularly range from sandpaper and caulking to sheets of drywall and other carpentry materials. We have expert carpenters who can provide a wide range of services to repair walls and other features prior to painting.

nursery painting theme colors

Themed Nurseries

A popular trend among young parents is to create a nursery centered around a theme, place, or book. You might want your child to know they are the sunshine of your life by using variations of yellow to reflect their brightness. If you plan to read “Guess How Much I Love You” every night, a combination of cotton white, pale green, and light blue can set the perfect scene.

For a wooded or nature theme, consider earthy tones like soft browns, forest greens, and sky blues. Incorporate elements like tree and animal decals, murals, decorations, and toys to bring the outdoors in. Adding natural textures through wooden furniture and woven baskets can enhance the theme, creating a peaceful and nurturing environment that connects your child to the beauty of nature from the very beginning.
