Velocity Truck Center

The Velocity Truck Center is a high-volume truck repair facility located in Greensboro, NC. There are more than 300 trucks that come in and out of the facility daily.

The problem to be solved:

The facility had unpainted brick walls in the office and driver’s break building. Much of the original color of the siding was beginning to fade, and parts of the painted brick were beginning to peel. In addition, the Steam Pit Room’s walls and floors were covered in grease, oil, and other chemicals, which had to be cleaned prior to priming. However, with more than 300 trucks moving in and out of the facility, CertaPro Painters of Greensboro’s true task was to execute a complete color change without disrupting the facility’s 24/7 business operation. This required extremely close coordination with the General Manager, including accessing specific areas on certain days, and working around inclement weather due to the fall season.

The professionals at CertaPro Painters of Greensboro began by pressure washing the entire building. Following this, they scraped and sanded previously painted areas, and then primed and painted the entire office, break area, and main truck bays. They also had to de-grease the entire Steam Pit room prior to priming and worked with different surfaces including brick, aluminum and steel.

Problem solver solution:

Over two weeks, we painted the showroom’s walls, trim, crown molding, and partitions. Our professional painters were as unobtrusive as possible, which allowed their business to continue as usual with minimal distractions to their customers. Additionally, our painters followed COVID safety guidelines to ensure that everyone from the customers to the staff and our crew were safe and protected during the project.

Final Result:

Velocity Truck Center management were delighted with the dramatic change in the appearance of their facility. Their facility was more visible from the highway, and the painters were praised for their ability to work around business operations so as not to disrupt everyday business.
